Removing Tile Leveling Clips

Most manufacturers’ standard method for removing tile leveling clips is to kick them with your foot. Wherever you search, you will find this method of tile clip removal.

A much easier method saves time, frustration, and, most importantly, your shoes and toes!

After installing the tile with the tile leveling clip system, you are left to remove the wedges holding the clips in place. Here is how to create a tool to remove those pesky clips and wedges.

Cut a standard 2×4 piece of wood; any grade is acceptable, but it should be about 4 feet long. The size you decide on depends on your height, so you can personalize it later.

Next, step 2 is to cut a 45-degree angle at the end of the 2×4.

Now stand up, hold the 2×4 with the 45-degree angle cut on the floor, and just push it against the clips and watch them easily break off. Soon, you will run down the rows, breaking clips faster than a speeding bullet. (well, maybe not that fast!)
